A DNA profile database that answers in seconds.
A forensic DNA profile database stores the profiles of evidence, human remains and reference relatives so they can be compared with each other. Identicore ADN provides it on-premise, with 1:1, 1:N and N:N matching, familial search and federated queries across sites.
The challenge
Many institutions keep their profiles in spreadsheets or in systems that do not talk to each other. Manually comparing a new profile against thousands of records does not scale, and cross-lab comparisons depend on letters and emails.
At the same time, genetic data is among the most sensitive information there is. Sending it to external services for processing is not an option for a prosecutor's office.
How we solve it
- 01
Profile loading
Autosomal STR, Y-STR and X-STR, with a kit catalog and population frequency tables configurable by the laboratory.
- 02
1:1, 1:N and N:N matching
One profile against another, against the whole database, or the whole database against itself, with identity-by-state prefiltering and vector search.
- 03
Familial search
When there is no direct match, it identifies probable relatives with an exhaustive Likelihood Ratio.
- 04
Federated queries
Matching across sites or states under collaboration agreements, without centralizing or exposing each institution's database.
- 05
Defensible results
Likelihood Ratio with population substructure correction, a coverage report and an audit trail for every query.
Frequently asked questions
What is a forensic DNA profile database?
It is a system that stores DNA profiles from evidence, human remains and reference relatives, and lets you compare them to find matches or kinship, with a record of who queried what and when.
What is the difference between 1:1, 1:N and N:N matching?
A 1:1 match compares two specific profiles. A 1:N search compares one profile against the whole database. An N:N search cross-matches the whole database against itself to uncover matches nobody was explicitly looking for.
Can databases from several states be queried without merging them?
Yes. With federated queries, each institution keeps its database on its own infrastructure and matching runs between nodes under collaboration agreements, without exposing the individual databases.
What marker types are supported?
Autosomal STR, Y-STR and X-STR. The laboratory manages its kit catalog and population frequency tables without reprogramming the system.
Where are the profiles stored?
On the institution's servers. Identicore ADN is installed on-premise and does not send profiles or case data to external services.
